According to the country's tourism department, the new hotline with the number of (+976) 70108687 will provide information on popular destinations and ongoing events across the country.

Moreover, tourists can call the number to ask for help and instructions when dealing with security issues or to complain about tourism services.

This service is part of efforts to develop Mongolia's tourism in a bid to diversify its mining-dependent economy.

The landlocked East Asian country has declared 2018 as a tourism year.

In the first quarter of 2018, the country saw 705,000 foreign tourists, up 11 percent from the same period last year, according to the National Statistical Office of Mongolia.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said the agreement was reached at a working level meeting in Seoul, with the change to be implemented by the end of the year.

The double-tracking will cover the 1,700 kilometers of the airway that is used by planes flying mostly to Mongolia, the Middle East, Russia and Europe from East Asia.

The ministry said one-way traffic will be observed to improve the flow of planes and flight safety.

In 2016 some 150,000 planes used the route, up from 128,000 in 2014.

Aviation experts said that due to the large number of planes on the route and the need to maintain safe distance between each jet, delays in flights from Incheon International Airport are very common. There were 1,344 flights that were delayed for more than an hour in 2016 due to congestion on the airway.

The ministry said that the decision to double-track the route can help 144,000 flights per year, with some 37 percent of the flights being South Korean flag carriers.

Seoul has been engaged in talks with Beijing on the issues since 2010 with the latest decision coming on the heels of a pact to double-track air routes to Southeast Asia.

Erdene plans to sell 4,000,000 common shares at a price of 34 Canadian cents per share for gross proceeds of Cdn$1.36 million.

The underwriters of the offering will receive a cash commission equal to 7% of the gross proceeds raised, Erdene said. In addition, Erdene will sell up to 8,000,000 units at a price of 38 Canadian cents each for gross proceeds of up to $3.04 million.

The transactions are expected to close on or before June 14, 2018, and are subject to certain conditions, including the receipt of all necessary approvals.

Mongolia’s mineral wealth has drawn several firms in the past two decades as it opened up to investment. The country’s main appeal has always been its riches — vast deposits of copper, coal and iron ore— as well as its proximity to China, the world’s biggest buyer of the minerals.

The enthusiasm peaked in 2011, when the land-locked nation’s economy grew 17% — the fastest pace on the planet. It went downhill since, with a slight recovery in the past two years as the country stepped up efforts to attract international investors, who can provide foreign direct investment to help Mongolia to meet the terms of its IMF bailout deal.

The government’s decision was made on May 23 and took effect Tuesday.

The 30,000 thousand tonne capacity facility will be constructed in Songinokhairkhan District of Ulaanbaatar. It is expected to open by 2020 and will create 200 new jobs as well as having positive value chain economic benefits for wholesalers and retailers alike.

At the meeting, the MPs discussed Mongolian Foreign Policy and the need to join the Eurasian Economic Union.

To date, Mongolia has not shown much interest in becoming a full member of the SCO, although it has been an observer since 2004.

Following projects will be realized with the soft loan :
- Project on constructing electric power transmission lines and sub-station between Ulaanbaatar and Mandalgobi’
- Project on reconstruction of Erdenet thermal power plant
- Construction of new wastewater treatment plant
- Construction of 20.9km road from Gachuurt intersection to Nalaikh-Choir intersection
- Construction of meat-processing plant and quarantine facility
- Project on developing area of Tuul and Selbe rivers
- Project on setting surveillance cameras in streets of Ulaanbaatar city and aimag centers
- Project on building tunnel
- Project on improving access, quality and control of communication sector

Moreover, the Government decided to put proposal to Chinese side on implementing ‘Hydro Power Plant in Erdeneburen soum’ project. The Mongolian Parliament approved the general agreement on utilization of USD1 billion loan from the Chinese Government in November 2015.

If the Parliament approves the draft resolution, railroads with length of 280km en route Zuunbayan-Khangi and 780 km en route Erdenet-Artssuuri will be built. It is expected that new railways will increase competence of export of raw materials and products, and make significant contribution to the economy.

Although iron ore will be mainly transported through Zuunbayan-Khangi railway, it is also possible to transport coaking coal, copper concentrate, construction materials and metal products.

Erdenet-Artssuuri railway will be connected to the Kyzyl-Kuragin railway of the Tuva Republic of the Russian Federation. By doing so, a new transit transport corridor that connects Europe and Asia will be established, allowing Mongolia to reach the third market and sea ports, using railway trasport network of the two neighboring countries.

The regular meeting was attended by representatives of member companies of the Board of the Project Management Institute Mongolia Chapter (PMIMC).

Present at the meeting were B.Bat-Erdene, deputy head of the Cabinet Secretariat and deputy chief of the Investment Protection Council (IPC), Kh.Bulgantuya, deputy Minister of Finance and member of the IPC and other officials.

At the meeting, B.Bat-Erdene introduced about the reform of government participation in private sector’s activities, measures to improve capacity of personnel and roles of project managers in solving pressing issues in economy.

“It is ready to function permanently the Public and the Private Sector’s Consultative Body, which operates under the IPC and is responsible to provide related information to the IPC before formulating any legal document on any investment-related laws and regulations. Also, it makes sure that no mutual interest is being violated and to advice on each legal issue for the Investment Protection Council.” He also added that it is willing to cooperate in implementing large projects and programs that can contribute to national development.

During the meeting, businessmen inquired about current taxation, mining and privatization and emphasized an importance of stable legal environment and attraction of foreign investment.
