Nighttime Electricity Tariff Discounts Begin for Ger District Households www.montsame.mn
Ger district households in Ulaanbaatar became eligible for discounted nighttime electricity tariffs starting November 2.
According to the Ulaanbaatar Electricity Distribution Network Company (UBEDN), the discount applies to households connected to 220V and 380V electricity networks in Ulaanbaatar, aimag centres, and soum centres with populations of more than 10,000.
The discount covers electricity consumption of up to 1,500 kWh, while consumption exceeding this limit will not qualify for reduced tariffs.
Eligible households in ger districts will receive the discount on electricity used between 9 p.m. and 9 a.m. The programme will remain in effect until March 31, 2027.
The Energy Regulatory Commission determines the level of the nighttime electricity tariff discount. Last year, households received a 100% discount on consumption of up to 1,500 kWh for 220V connections and 3,000 kWh for 380V connections.
