During a meeting in Moscow, Prime Minister G.Zandanshatar discussed deeper economic cooperation with Chinese Premier Li Qiang, proposing a package of trade and infrastructure measures aimed at substantially expanding bilateral commerce.
G.Zandanshatar said Mongolia is ready to advance cross-border railway projects in stages, including the Shiveekhuren–Sekhee, Khangi–Mandal and Bichigt–Zuunkhatavch lines, to improve connectivity and logistics. He proposed increasing the physical volume of coal exports to China to 100 million tons, diversifying the two countries’ trade structure, and raising bilateral trade to USD 20 billion by easing and expanding quarantine protocols for agricultural products.
Premier Li Qiang expressed confidence that Mongolia–China relations will continue to develop steadily and long-term, and reiterated that China’s large market remains open to Mongolian goods. Both leaders also underlined the importance of advancing the trilateral natural gas pipeline project linking Russia and China through Mongolian territory, a project previously agreed by the heads of state of Mongolia, China and Russia.
