On the talks of Secretary-General with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia www.eng.sectsco.org
On November 20, 2025 in Ulaanbaatar at the Government House of Mongolia the Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Nurlan Yermekbayev held talks with the country's Minister of Foreign Affairs Batmunkh Battsetseg as part of his official visit.
Minister of Foreign Affairs confirmed Mongolia's interest in expanding cooperation within the Organization and participating in multilateral projects. Batmunkh Battsetseg emphasized that Mongolia is well-acquainted with the SCO at various levels and sees great potential in developing interaction.
The Secretary-General noted that Mongolia is making a constructive contribution to the Organization's broad agenda and maintains a high level of relations with SCO member states. He informed the Minister about the Organization's current activities and the key outcomes of the meetings of its principal bodies - the Council of Heads of State and the Council of Heads of Government.
Talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia
The parties exchanged views on the results of the Tianjin Summit and the process of modernizing the Organization and its treaty-legal base.
The parties discussed ways to expand Mongolia's results-oriented participation in the Organization's work with a focus on interconnectivity, climate change, digitalization, and cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
The talks were held in a friendly and constructive atmosphere.
