Mongolia, Vietnam to expand economic cooperation www.english.vov.vn

VOV.VN - Vietnam and Mongolia are looking to further deepen their Comprehensive Partnership by expanding cooperation in trade, investment and people-to-people exchanges, Party General Secretary and State President To Lam said while receiving newly appointed Mongolian Ambassador Ganbaatar Hulan.

Welcoming Ambassador Hulan, who presented her credentials on July 6, he expressed confidence that her experience and commitment would contribute to promoting the Comprehensive Partnership between the two countries in a more substantive and effective manner.

The Vietnamese leader noted with satisfaction the growing bilateral relationship, stressing that Vietnam and Mongolia share a long-standing traditional friendship nurtured by President Ho Chi Minh and generations of leaders of both countries.

He reaffirmed Vietnam's appreciation for the valuable support extended by the Mongolian Government and people during Vietnam's struggle for national independence and reunification, as well as in its current development efforts.

Reaffirming that Vietnam consistently values its relationship with Mongolia, Party General Secretary and State President To Lam said Hanoi stands ready to work closely with Ulaanbaatar to further deepen the Comprehensive Partnership in line with the shared vision of the two countries' senior leaders and for the benefit of both peoples.

He called for stronger cooperation through Party, Government and parliamentary channels, while promoting collaboration in diplomacy, defence, security, justice and legal affairs.

He also emphasised the importance of strengthening economic, trade and investment cooperation by encouraging greater business connectivity and effectively implementing bilateral agreements.

The Vietnamese leader proposed that the two countries convene the 20th meeting of the Vietnam–Mongolia Intergovernmental Committee on Economic, Trade and Scientific-Technical Cooperation in Mongolia at an early date and called on the Mongolian side to continue creating favourable conditions for Vietnamese enterprises investing or planning to invest in Mongolia.

He further encouraged expanded cooperation in culture, education, tourism, locality-to-locality partnerships and people-to-people exchanges to deepen mutual understanding between the two nations.

For her part, Ambassador Hulan conveyed President Ukhnaa Khurelsukh's greetings to Party General Secretary and State President To Lam and other senior Vietnamese leaders, congratulating Vietnam on its impressive socio-economic achievements and rapid economic growth under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

She reaffirmed that Mongolia highly values its relationship with Vietnam, describing Vietnam as Mongolia's "third neighbour" and one of its most important comprehensive partners in Southeast Asia.

The ambassador pledged to work closely with Vietnamese partners to further strengthen bilateral cooperation across all sectors. She expressed her hope that Vietnamese leaders, ministries, agencies and localities would continue supporting her mission to advance the Comprehensive Partnership in a more practical and effective manner.
