Authorities have issued a flood warning as water levels continue to rise in several rivers across Mongolia following recent rainfall.

As of July 28, water levels have risen by 10 to 55 centimeters from the previous day in the Selenge River at Khyalgant bagh, Selenge aimag, and other rivers such as Chuluut, Baidrag, and Tsagaanturuut rivers.

For July 29, water levels are forecast to increase by an additional 10–20 cm in the river mentioned above: Selenge River near Zuunburen soum, Selenge aimag; Chuluut River near Undur-Ulaan soum, Arkhangai aimag; Baidrag River of Buutsagaan soum, Bayankhongor aimag.

Meanwhile, the Kharkhiraa River near Tarialan soum, Uvs aimag, and the Tuul River near Lun soum, Tuv aimag, remain 5–10 cm above the flood level and continue to carry high volumes of water.

Authorities are urging people traveling, camping, or spending time along riverbanks to avoid setting up camps near rivers, keep a close watch on young children, and refrain from entering rivers until water levels subside.
