Mongolia's inflation rate rises to 12.9 pct in September www.xinhuanet.com
Mongolia's inflation rate, as measured by the consumer price index, reached 12.9 percent in September, local media reported on Tuesday, citing the country's National Statistics Office (NSO).
The figure was 3.9 percentage points higher than in the same month last year and 0.6 percentage points above the rate recorded in August, according to the NSO.
The increase was driven primarily by rising prices of imported goods, the statistics office said.
The Bank of Mongolia, the country's central bank, has set an inflation target of 5 percent, with a tolerance band of plus or minus 2 percentage points, from 2027, as part of its efforts to maintain macroeconomic and financial stability over the medium term.
