Mongolia's Steppe Road and China's Belt and Road initiatives to be harmonized www.montsame.mn
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ During its meeting held on May 2, yesterday, the Cabinet discussed and backed a draft memorandum of understanding between the Governments of Mongolia and the People’s Republic of China (PRC) on coordinating the initiatives ‘Steppe Road’ and ‘The Belt and Road’.
‘The Belt and Road’ initiative has become interior and foreign policy strategy of PRC since Chinese leader Xi Jinping had proposed it and China calls for world countries to join the initiative. The initiative focuses on connectivity and cooperation in policy coordination, infrastructure construction, trade and finance and people to people relations among 65 countries, covering 11 East Asian countries, 18 West Asian, 8 South Asian, 5 Central Asian, 7 Commonwealth of Independent States’ , 16 Middle east and east European countries.
The Government gave a right to Minister of Foreign Affairs Ts.Munkh-Orgil to sign the memorandum of understanding.
