Public officials being trained on sustainable growth and green management montsame.mn
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) Project, jointly implemented by the Green Growth Policy Planning Department and Clean Technology, Investment and Production Division of the Ministry of Environment and Tourism and financed by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) is conducting series of training themed “Green Organizational Management”. The training will continue until the end of May. The training is being carried out in the margin of implementation of Mongolia’s Green Growth Policy and its action plan.
Matter of sustainable development education is an inevitable task for Mongolia because of rapid process of environmental degradation, social change and economic growth. The Environment Ministry is aspiring to provide basic understanding about sustainable development and green growth, while trying to change people’s behavior and develop their sustainable skills, starting from the public officials.
“We picked public officials working in the 10 partnering government bodies as our trainees, because they are the ones who must be role models for ordinary citizens on how to work and grow sustainably and make people understand about the coordination between green growth and education for sustainable development. The trainees have been receiving information on ways to apply environmental management system into their workplaces and how to encourage others to adopt sustainable lifestyle", says Ts.Uranchimeg, director of Clean Technology, Investment and Production Division.
Officials from the Ulaanbaatar City Administration, Ministry of Energy, National Development Department, Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sports and Ministry of Construction and Urban Development received this training on April 26.
